WHAT TO EXPECT

We know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming. We want you to feel comfortable and know what to expect when you come to visit us at Cheney Naz. We hope that through our various ministries and activities you will find new ways to connect with others and knowing more about who Jesus is.

Welcome!

Every Sunday morning at 10:30am, our church family gathers together in person to worship, pray and learn from God's Word. If you are unable to be there in person, we do stream our service on our Facebook page. We hope to connect with you soon!

What to Expect

  • When arriving at our church, please feel free to park in any space that is available. If spots near the front of our building are full, there are more overflow parking spots on either side of the building as well.

  • When entering our church building, you may enter through either set of double doors at the front of the building and will be welcomed in by our wonderful greeters. They will provide you with a bulletin full of information about the upcoming service and events happening around our church in the coming weeks.

  • Please feel free to enjoy the free coffee, snacks and waters available to you in the lobby before the morning service.

  • You can enter the sanctuary through any of the double doors and sit wherever you are most comfortable.

  • Our service starts at 10:30 and is typically about 90 minutes long. It includes a time of worship with engaging music and lyrics and a sermon that is rooted in scripture and applicable to our lives today.

what about my kids?

  • We understand the apprehension of leaving your child in a new place. We take this responsibility seriously and your children's safety is very important to us. Our volunteers are individuals who have volunteered because they have a heart for kids and they have all received a background check for added safety.

  • For children who are elementary or younger, you may head to the check-in tables in the lobby before the service. You will receive a sticker for each child with their name on it along with an additional sticker that has a corresponding number attached. This sticker will need to be present when picking them up to ensure that someone who is not a designated adult is picking them up.

  • Infants and Preschoolers are welcome to attend their classes throughout the entire church service. Their classrooms are down the hall, past the main offices and to the left at the end of the hall. If there is a problem or a parent is needed to be contacted, the volunteers will do so through the phone number given during check-in. Preschoolers are given a small lesson which includes a Bible story, songs and a coordinating activity.

  • Elementary-aged children (Kindergarten through 5th grade) join you in the main service for the morning songs and announcements. Before the sermon begins, the elementary-aged children will dismissed to the lobby and follow their volunteer teacher to their classroom for their Bible lesson and activity. Their classroom is located down the hall, past the main offices, take a right at the end of the hall and their classroom is the one at the end of the hall.

  • Middle School and High School students are welcome to join you in our multigenerational service along side you.

FAQs

Do I have to check in my kids during the service? Can they come with me to the sanctuary?

That decision is completely up to you! We want you to do what is best for your family and what you are comfortable with. People of all ages are welcome to our morning service. If little ones want something to keep their hands busy, we have coloring pages and crayons available in the lobby for them to use. If you need a quiet place to nurse your little one, our security team will point you in the direction to our nursing mama's room.

What do I wear? Is there a dress code or any expectations?

We believe that you matter more than what you are dressed in. We don't want anything material to be a reason for you not to feel welcome to our church. You will find people in a variety of clothing choices (shorts, t-shirts, dresses, flannels, etc).

Can I bring coffee into the sanctuary?

Of course! We have lids provided in the lobby for those wanting to bring their coffee into the service. Please feel free to bring your own coffee if you prefer. As always, we do have decaf or regular coffee available to you in our lobby.
